Condition of the Surface
The condition of the running surface is very important as it exerts a huge influence on the life and functional reliability of the sealing action. In particular the following points should be observed: Adherence to the roughness requirements as high leakage and premature wear can be caused if the surface is too rough. Even surface roughness which is too low may lead to problems. The transport of lubricating material can be adversely affected. (In the case of sealing systems which have this requirement)
