The right roughness depth

The design of a seal's running surface deserves just as much attention as the seal itself, as it has a decisive influence on the service life and functional stability of the sealing system.

Above all, the correct roughness depth must be maintained: an excessive roughness depth can cause high leakage and premature wear, while too low a roughness depth can also cause problems. In this case, the transport of lubricant (in sealing systems that rely on it) can be impaired.
