Bearing and sliding elements made of carbon and graphite materials, chemically resistant, capable of dry running and low in friction. Manufactured to customer specification.
Thanks to their good sliding properties, Carbon Sleeves act as bearing and sliding elements. Notable properties of carbon and graphite materials are chemical resistance, good sliding and dry-running properties, a low coefficient of friction and good thermal conductivity. In addition, these components are distinguished by unique thermal shock behavior, excellent dimensional stability and high fatigue strength.
Carbon Sleeves are used mainly where other materials are not possible due to high corrosion or where the temperature is outside the range permissible for lubricating oils. They are also used when the materials are surrounded by grease-dissolving agents or when liquids without a lubricating effect, such as water and petrol, are conveyed.
Main areas of application as bearing and sliding elements under dry running are dryers for gypsum or plasterboard panels, vane pumps and air compressors as well as the guide vane adjustment of turbo compressors. In wet running, carbon plain bearings are used mainly in industrial pumps, electroplating plants and washing systems, as well as in automotive, reactor and offshore technology.
