Near-contact-free gap seal for higher temperature ranges up to 500 °C, with minimal leakage and high sealing performance.
Shaft seal for sealing against the ingress of foreign matter from the environment into the process medium, as well as against the escape of process medium into the environment. It seals the sealing gap between a stationary housing and a rotor (shaft) rotating relative to it, using sealing rings arranged one behind the other in the axial direction.
To seal and isolate the process medium, barrier gas is preferably used; in certain cases, barrier grease is also possible as an alternative or supplement. With solids-free process media, recirculation into the system by extraction is also possible.
Thanks to the multi-part design, the sealing rings are easy to install. Due to the inherently small clearance at the joints, a near-contact-free gap seal with minimal leakage and thus high sealing performance is achieved after an initial run-in period.
Compared with contacting seals, higher circumferential speeds and high pressures can also be achieved. The radially movable arrangement compensates for radial displacements and installation tolerances.
Designed for applications in high- and low-temperature ranges, the chemical industry, food industry and pharmaceuticals, pumps and much more. For sealing shaft passages in radial and axial fans, mills, mixers and centrifuges, for both rotating (e.g. turbomachinery) and reciprocating (e.g. piston rods) applications.
